No Room at the Inn?

Isaac and Rachel, a pastor and his wife with little money and living in meager conditions, felt their home was full and that they had no room for more children. After all, they had already welcomed 25 orphans into their home, along with their 3 biological children. Then the Lord sent them 8 more orphaned children and they made room because Isaac said, “What else could we do? These children had nowhere else to go. I could not turn them away.” In March, in a war-torn part of Myanmar, a man was murdered and his wife was unable to care for their 2 young sons because of a severe disability. This loving mother heard about Isaac and called him begging for him to take her children so that they would not starve. Her relatives would take care of her, but not her children. In spite of the corona virus and the cost of food rising in Myanmar, Isaac believed God wanted him to take the boys, so they made room for them.

Because of the great love the Lord has for Isaac and Rachel, they have answered and continue to answer, God’s call to care for “The least of these.” Before we came to know Isaac and Rachel, they were often without food and would pray that God would send food. When they would pray for food, God would show up. Sometimes it would be a farmer bringing a truck of vegetables or someone dropping off bags of rice. In spite of many days not knowing where food would come from, God always came through just on time and they have never gone hungry.

There are many more children desperate for a place to go, and because of God’s provision for Isaac and Rachel, somehow they will continue to make room for more. God has always provided and they will keep on trusting Him.
