SISTER CHURCH

SISTER CHURCH

In the spirit of 2 Corinthians 8:13-15… Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but rather that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, as it is written: “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.”

In 2009, the Lord introduced RCC to Evens & Florence Sanon. Evens was finishing up his schooling at Lincoln Christian University, and the couple was preparing to return home to Haiti to begin a ministry there. It was through Evens that we first learned of the needs in Grand Savann, Haiti. After a mission team returned from Grand Savann in August 2010, the missions team, staff, and elders all agreed that God was calling us into a long-term partnership with Grand Savann Christian Church.

This Sister Church relationship means more than just financial support. As “Sister Churches”, RCC and GSCC mutually commit to:

• Pray vigilantly for one another

• Encourage each other with regular communication

• Plan with each other for the building of the Kingdom of God

• Work side by side on mission trips

One major component of the Sister Church partnership is the establishment of a child sponsorship program, administered by Just 4 Them Inc. For $40 a month, you can provide a child in Grand Savann with a Christian education, health care, and basic living needs.
