In Christ we have the power to drive out hate and become the unified body of believers He has called us to be, but only if we accept that everyone is a son and daughter of God. Will we allow fear and anger to keep us apart? Will we allow violence and vengeance to tear down our cities? Or will we allow hope and love to break down prejudice and begin to heal deep wounds that have been there for generations.
When we begin to see others as being children of God we can set aside our fears, hatred, opinions, and political preference. God loves all of us. And right now we need to step up for those that are seen and treated as less than God’s children. The Black Community is being treated unfairly, abused, and killed simply for not being white. Innocent children of God whose lives matter.
We are the sons, we are the daughters of God
No matter where we go we’re close to the Father’s heart
And though we stumble He will not let us fall
We are the Lord’s and He will never forsake His own
We are the sons, we are the daughters of God
We are the sons and daughters of God. And when your brother or sister is in danger you reach out to help them. You compassionately reach out your hand and lift that specific brother or sister up and show them the love and respect that they deserve.
So may we take our mixture of feelings before God in prayer, seek His face, and turn our attention toward those who need the love of Christ now more than ever. This is our opportunity to be love, shine light, and drive back the darkness.
Let’s be true sons and daughters of Christ by not being silent, complacent, or indifferent to injustice, violence, and racism. Let’s be more like Christ and extend a helping hand to those who are hurting.
