OUR TEAM

Matt Gibbs grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from Johnson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Bible, Theology, and Youth Ministry. Before joining the staff of RCC in January 2021, Matt served in a variety of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. His top spiritual gifts are teaching, exhortation, knowledge, wisdom, and discipleship.
Matt is married to Emily, his favorite person in the entire world, and they have one son, Arlo. He loves spending time with his family. He is also an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and Manchester United. He says that his crowning achievement as a father (thus far) is teaching his son “Rocky Top”

Mark has been in preaching ministry for over 50 years, mostly in churches in Illinois since 1980.  He and his wife, Ellen, both lost their spouses to cancer and remarried in 2010.  Together they share 5 children and 14 grandchildren, and they are all uniquely created!  Mark enjoys traveling to see family, pickleball, bicycling, and reading.  Mark is currently the part-time shepherding pastor at RCC and is part of the preaching team for both RCC and South Fork Church. 

Dave grew up on a farm outside of Rochester and graduated from RHS long before they were state football champs. (a.k.a he's old) Four decades of ministry have provided multiple roles and opportunities to see God work in all kinds of church ministries.  As Shared Ministry Pastor he is now able to utilize and incorporate what he's learned into new ways to grow God's Kingdom here in central Illinois.  Currently Dave works in partnership with God and church Elders and staff to re-vision healthy and growing churches. Dave has been married to Sharon for 42 years and lives on the farm he grew up on just a few miles from the church.  They are the proud parents of three adult sons and are in search of their next canine family member.

Paul graduated from Lincoln Christian University in May of 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry. Having been in youth and children's ministry for thirty years, Paul is excited to share his spiritual gifts of encouragement, shepherding, and teaching throughout his ministry. Paul's passion is to see kids come to know God's love and to share that love with others.He and his wife, Vicki, have 3 children: Zach, Katie, Jakob, one granddaughter, Brinley, and one grandson, Kaleb. Outside of the church, you can find Paul enjoying a walk, riding bikes, or hanging out with his family.

Kirk Barton has been attending RCC for the past 20 years. Kirk has been able to help upkeep the church building as well as handle the maintenance.

Heidi Wareham has attended RCC since she moved to Rochester in 2001. She joined the Missions Team as a volunteer in 2004, then was hired as the Missions Director in April 2009. Heidi's top spiritual gifts are mercy and faith. She especially has a heart for Unreached People Groups, refugees, and immigrants.

Lydia is graduating from the University of Illinois Springfield in the Spring of 2026 with a double major in Communications and Educational Studies. Lydia moved to Rochester about 10 years ago to start high school and graduated in 2021. She has two dogs and a cat. Outside of the church, you can find Lydia reading, doing crafts and going on long nature walks. Lydia started her journey with wanting to be a teacher but after a while the Lord sent her down a different path to start a new career and have new life goals.

April joined the church office part-time in 2004 and transitioned to full-time in 2006. As Business Manager, she oversees the church’s financial operations and coordinates the maintenance of the church facility and grounds. Outside the office, she loves spending time with her family, watching sports, listening to music, scrapbooking and exploring new places.
