There was once a complete separation between God and man. This separation existed because mankind was so sinful and wicked. A pure, holy, and righteous God could not be in their presence because imperfection cannot share the same space as perfection.
However, when Jesus came to Earth, he wrapped perfection in imperfection when he became a man. He took the punishment, torture, and eventual death that each sinful person deserved. And the very moment that He breathed his last breath the veil in the Temple, that represented the separation between God and man, was torn completely in two. Jesus brought down the barrier between God and man.
“…He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:6-11
Now we call on His name because it has power. Now we call on His name because it has authority. We call on the Beautiful name, the Wonderful name, the Powerful name of Jesus. When we call on that name we can be set free from captivity, from sin, and from the lonely and isolated separation from God.
Death could not hold You
The veil tore before You

The heavens are roaring
The praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again
